Service Programmes
Three Programmes, Each Suited to a Different Need
Mutiara Tempo offers a Watchmaker Service for mechanical calibres, a Bezel Service for rotating bezels, and a Heritage Programme for watches of lasting personal significance.
Back to HomeOur Method
How Every Service Begins
Regardless of which programme applies, every watch that enters the atelier follows the same initial process: an in-person intake appointment, a written assessment of the watch's current condition, photographs, and a discussion about the owner's specific concerns before any work is agreed or commenced. The work proceeds only once both parties are satisfied that the scope is understood.
Intake Appointment
In-person consultation, photographs, written assessment
Agreed Scope
Work and fees confirmed in writing before starting
Service & Regulation
Full service, multi-day observation, timing verification
Collection
Work explained, report provided (Heritage), watch returned
Programme One
Watchmaker Service
A traditional service approach for mechanical and automatic calibres, suitable for both daily-worn references and pieces returning to regular use after a period of storage. The work begins with a written intake assessment, photographs of the watch's current state, and consultation with the owner about specific concerns.
The movement is fully disassembled, with each component cleaned through staged ultrasonic processes, inspected under magnification, and reassembled with carefully selected lubrication on each contact surface. Mainsprings, pivot ends, and pallet stones are evaluated and renewed where wear has progressed beyond operating tolerance. Following reassembly, the movement is regulated across multiple positions and observed over several days.
- Written intake assessment and condition photographs
- Full movement disassembly and ultrasonic cleaning
- Mainspring, pivot, and pallet stone evaluation
- Calibre-appropriate lubrication
- Multi-position regulation and several-day observation
Programme Two
Bezel Service
A focused service addressing rotating bezels and bezel inserts on dive, GMT, and sport references, where exposure and use over time can leave the bezel action loose, the insert faded, or the click mechanism worn. The work begins with examination of the bezel ring's geometry, the click spring or ball-bearing system underneath, and the insert's condition and seating.
Damaged or worn click components are renewed to restore precise indexed action. Faded or chipped inserts are replaced with correctly specified parts where current production allows. The service includes alignment verification and inspection of the lume pip or marker.
- Bezel ring geometry and click mechanism inspection
- Click spring or ball-bearing renewal
- Insert assessment and replacement (where parts available)
- Alignment verification on completion
- Lume pip and marker inspection
Programme Three
Heritage Programme
An extended programme designed for watches of considered importance — vintage references, family pieces, and timepieces forming part of a long-term collection. The programme combines full movement service, case and bracelet attention with conservation in mind, gasket renewal and pressure testing, dial and hands review, and where appropriate, sourcing of period-correct replacement components.
The owner is consulted throughout, with key decisions documented in writing. A photographic record covers each major stage, and a detailed written condition report is prepared upon completion. Timelines typically run from twelve to eighteen weeks depending on parts availability.
- Full movement service included
- Case and bracelet attention — conservation approach
- Gasket renewal and pressure testing
- Dial and hands review; period-correct parts sourcing
- Photographic record and written condition report on completion
